Theres two parts of our brain which is the left and right side. These two different sides control different modes of our every day life activities. Here is some example on the function of our left and right brain.

Looks at parts Looks at wholes
So, the right brain is visual and processes information in an intuitive and simultaneous way, looking first at the whole picture then the details. And the left brain is verbal and processes information in an analytical and sequential way, looking first at the pieces then putting them together to get the whole.
